Lixys has completed recently a prototype and has tested it with the company Polysoude for quality control during automated welding. Lixys autodarkening filter is synchronized to the arc pulses during welding. Synchronization improves the response of the camera and allows a better vision of the welding bath. Liquid crystal filters have a tuneable transmission and can advantagely replace mechanical filters in front of camera lenses, even for non pulsed welding.
